Strategy Director

As the Strategy Director of Joyride (the branded content agency of the the LADbible Group) you will be working within a fast-growing, award-winning social publishing company which has an enormous influence on a young generation.

The role:

Reporting directly into the agency head, this exciting and important role demands a leader with the experience and vision to implement insights-led media and brand strategies and solutions for our brand partners. And to contribute to the general proactive strategy of the LADbible Group’s family of channels to ensure they grow and thrive commercially.

The Strategy Director will develop and grow the insights and strategy function, so having keen people management skills and experience in this domain is essential.

Experience working 8+ years in relevant role(s) at media, creative, social or agencies is ideal.

We are looking for a passionate individual with a keen understanding of various advertising models, an understanding of content publishing and the social space, new media technologies, activation principles, familiarity of co-creation between brands and publishers, and general cultural savviness.

To be successful in this position it is important that you are versatile, adaptable and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be client facing, lead pitches and are hungry to win. You must enjoy developing relationships both internally and externally, and actively promote the business, the agency and vision to the industry.


New business:

Comprising Media Strategy and Brand Strategy skills, the Strategy Director will lead on our highest potential pitches, pulling in and collaborating with specialists from other domains of Joyride and the commercial team in the process. Meanwhile, ensuring we are set up with sound strategic framework templates for others in the team to work with independently. In time, the Strategy Director will help build out and manage team to fully service the strategic needs of all new business opportunities, both reactive and proactive.

Key accounts:

Joyride work with select clients on deeper set, integrated partnerships, helping brands solve broader business challenges they face. There is a need in this role is to provide a level of strategic consultation and personal guidance throughout on flagship live projects - and/or manage an appointed strategy planner, depending on the nature of the task at hand - to ensure they remain true to the vision, whilst correctly set up to demonstrate effectiveness.

Social Movements:

LADbible Group are committed to being ‘positively social’, creating big impact movements that encourage exciting debate, meaningful conversations and positive action; be it around mental health, politics, the environment, etc. The Strategy Director will provide strategic direction and support, helping devise commercial tie-in opportunities where appropriate.

Channel strategy:

Leadership to help understand and plan against the growth potential of our ecosystem, and commercial strategy for the specific channels within.

Promoting the vision:

Devise occasional workshops and development sessions with clients and agencies to showcase the capability and credentials of LADbible Group / Joyride.


Joyride provides the broader commercial efforts with a variety of channel and audience Insights, both for day-to-day new business and campaign effectiveness tracking. The Strategy Director will oversee the insight specialist(s) in this area.
