Senior Account Manager

Working in our in-house creative agency, Joyride, the Senior Account Manager’s role is primarily to oversee the timely and effective delivery of brand-funded projects and account work assigned to them. Initially the work will comprise short-midterm business which has a level of integration into LADbible’s family of popular, fast-growing editorial channels.

Ideally, with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with experience of how to handle media agency and brand direct clients, the position demands excellent analytical, organisation, communication, collaboration, coordination and leadership skills. With an ability to extract the best contributions from other people, particularly the various specialists internally from within the Agency and the broader team at LADbible (e.g. Sales, Creative, Production, Design, Editorial Activation, and so on).

The Senior Account Manager must expertly handle client expectations and be proactive with communications which concern campaign deliverables. They must project a positive, proactive image to the client to support the Sales team in relationship-building and project maintenance. 

The Senior Account Manager must be passionate about youth culture and savvy about the advertising industry. They must be a problem-solver who may also need to contribute to the development of original branded content ideas, working closely with the Agency specialist colleagues. At times, the role may also demand for the Senior Account Manager to be present and assist with productions.

The Senior Account Manager has a vital function in being guardian and promoter; both of LADbible and the clients’ brand. They must willingly seek information and insight about all brands involved – their business model, products, market positioning, audience and competitors – to be as adept and trusted as possible.

  • Ability to develop a strong and constructive relationship with the client based on honesty and trust.
  • Manage the client’s expectations regarding deliverable; pre-empt and resolve issues early.

 

Marketing Skills:

  • Always demonstrate a clear understanding of the client’s business.
  • Timely delivery of reports and campaign analysis.
  • Akeen eye for data; ability to optimise and improve for benefit of optimum campaign performance. 
  • Creation and maintenance of project timing plans, ensuring they are adhered to by all involved.
  • Ability to take a brief from client and draft creative brief for internal discussion.
  • Provide clear project management in terms of workflow, timings and objectives (e.g. early stage involvement of production, clear objectives and task/delivery management).
  • Be a good judge of creative work in terms of factual accuracy and relevance to brief.
  • Be responsible for any legal clearances.

 

People Management Skills:

  • Oversee and improve the ability of your account team; providing constructive feedback about their performance.
  • Manage others by delegating in an appropriate manner both up and down.
  • Be optimistic and motivate other members of the team during difficult times.
  • Show ability to debate constructively with clients to successfully defend our recommendations or point of view.
  • Act as constructive “go-between” over creative changes affected by client or elsewhere.
  • Keen negotiation skills.

 

Presentation and Communication Skills

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills; this includes the ability to run meetings, present and sell creative ideas, and write papers with the relevant input from colleagues.
  • Ensure the client receives quality, factually accurate reporting during campaigns and that we round off each campaign with a PCA.
  • Presentation skills to promote the work and facilitate further selling of our services to the client.

 

Financial Management:

  • Keep timely, accurate and detailed cost managers / create SOW’s
  • Be responsible for accurate invoicing of all activity.
  • Manage a well organised system of job numbers that appropriately handles the volume of work.

 

Other:

  • Champion you and your team’s work.
  • Capture learnings, offer solutions, provide recommendations and communicate to the wider team.
  • To undertake other tasks including general administrative duties as may be required.
