The Role

GAMINGbible is LADbible’s specialist channel covering the fast-moving world of video gaming -  from the latest releases and breaking news through to the shared experiences we’ve all had in front of consoles, handheld and mobile play, the culture surrounding games, and the future of the interactive medium.

GAMINGbible requires a Snapchat Editor to launch our channel on Discover, developing the editorial direction as well as coming up with unique ways of storytelling. Working closely with the Senior Social Editor, the Snapchat Editor will be responsible for right choosing what content to cover and how to cover it, briefing motion graphic designers to bring these stories to life in a mobile-first format.

The Snapchat Editor will be aware of what content connects with the GAMINGbible audience, be bold enough to use that knowledge to make calls on what else will work, and ultimately be responsible for managing the highs and lows of GAMINGbible’s Snapchat output. They will own their mistakes - not that they’ll make many - just as professionally as their successes.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven working environment, and will work well with other GAMINGbible staffers, freelancers, and other personnel from the LADbible team.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and already possess a host of gaming industry contacts. Their influence on the voice of GAMINGbible will be significant, so they should have prior experience of shaping the tone and content of another major gaming media brand in a social media capacity.

Responsibilities

 

=     Owning the daily traffic and engagement targets for GAMINGbible on Snapchat

=     Creating news lists as well as forward-planning key content and maintaining an editorial calendar for relevant upcoming events and releases      

=     Briefing motion graphic designers to create and adapt content for a vertical platform

=    Finding stories that suit the GAMINGbible audience, and working with editorial writers to deliver that content to the audience

=     Using games industry contacts to source video exclusives and access to relevant events

=     Working closely with the head of content to establish and maintain GAMINGbible’s voice in the modern games media landscape

=   Adapting to new social media trends and keeping up to date with developments within Snapchat Discover

=     Measure the success of content via engagements, analytics and your own intuition

=       Significant experience (3+ years) in a games industry role specialising in social media

=       Journalistic background advantageous for spotting stories and checking legalities

=       Target-driven with the ability to hit quick-turnaround deadlines

=       Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken

=       A background in news reporting, with games specialism, is a big advantage

=     Imaginative enough to come up with original, engaging social media campaigns and content to set GAMINGbible apart

=       Proven record of producing high-quality social media content

=       Leadership skills a must, and the ability to self-manage a day-to-day workload

=       Genuine passion for the benefits of social media, and developments across relevant platforms

=    Determination to build the GAMINGbible brand’s presence in the games industry and the public perception
